Starter graduates continuing to Practicum
From Learners at Every Level
Wanchai Thanawit
Bangkok · Starter Course
"I'd looked at a lot of online courses before this one. Most of them left me with video notes and no actual code I'd written myself. The Starter Course was different — every topic was followed by something I had to build. By week four I had a working classifier and I understood why it worked."

Priya Lakshmi
Chiang Mai · Practicum
"The Practicum pushed me harder than I expected. The data tasks required real decisions — you couldn't just follow steps. My only small frustration was that some of the dataset documentation was a bit thin, but the email support was fast and the instructor walked me through it."

James Sutton
Singapore · Capstone Track
"The mentorship was what sold me on the Capstone Track, and it delivered. My mentor was direct about what wasn't working in my pipeline — not just encouraging, but actually useful. The portfolio write-up review at the end was more thorough than I expected."

Nattaporn Chaiprasong
Bangkok · Starter Course
"I work in marketing and had zero coding background. The Starter Course treated that as a normal starting point, not a problem to apologise for. Six weeks in, I had a working project and I'd enrolled in the Practicum before I even finished the last module."

Rahul Krishnamurthy
Kuala Lumpur · Practicum
"I had some Python experience but kept hitting walls when I tried to do real data work. The Practicum was exactly the right level — it assumed basic Python and then moved fast. The pace was good. I finished with two notebooks I'd actually use again as references."

Arisa Thongsuk
Bangkok · Capstone Track
"The scoping session at the start of the Capstone was more valuable than I expected. I went in with a vague project idea and came out with a clear definition I could actually work to. The feedback sessions after that were honest — which is what I needed, not encouragement."

Learner Journeys in Detail
Challenge
Wanchai worked in logistics analysis but relied entirely on Excel. He wanted to build predictive models for demand forecasting but had no coding background and didn't know where to start with all the conflicting advice online.
Path Taken
Enrolled in the Starter Course, then moved directly to the Practicum. Over five months total, he built a demand forecasting pipeline using public logistics data, iterating through three different model approaches.
Outcome
Completed both courses. Has a documented forecasting notebook he now uses in his own work. Completed the Practicum's final evaluation task with a model achieving 87% classification accuracy on the provided test set.
"I didn't expect to move from Excel to actual ML in under six months. The two courses together gave me a structure I couldn't have found piecing things together myself." — Wanchai T., Bangkok
Challenge
James had a software development background but had never worked on data-heavy projects. He wanted to make a career shift towards ML engineering and needed a structured project he could present to potential collaborators.
Path Taken
Joined the Capstone Track directly, having already studied pandas and scikit-learn independently. Worked with a mentor over three and a half months on a text classification project for document organisation.
Outcome
Completed the Capstone with a full project write-up and presentation. The project covers data sourcing, preprocessing, model selection, and evaluation — structured as a reproducible pipeline with clear documentation.
"The mentor was the critical difference. Having someone who could tell me when my feature engineering choices were just adding noise saved me weeks of going in the wrong direction." — James S., Singapore
Challenge
Priya had tried two other online platforms but found the courses too abstract. She needed something that dealt with messy real-world data — the kind where values are missing, formats are inconsistent, and the model training doesn't work the first time.
Path Taken
Enrolled in the Practicum, which she completed over nine weeks. Worked through four guided tasks, including one that deliberately contained inconsistent data formats requiring systematic cleaning decisions.
Outcome
Finished the Practicum with four documented notebooks covering different aspects of the data-to-model pipeline. Said it was the first time a course had matched the experience of working with data that behaves like actual data.
"Other courses used clean datasets. The Practicum used datasets that behaved like the ones I encounter at work. That made all the difference." — Priya L., Chiang Mai
